Support Groups for All Licensed Foster Parents
Are you licensed with the State or another agency? Join us on the first and third Thursday 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Youthnet offers ongoing support groups to our foster families, and these meetings are open to all DCYF, Youthnet, and other agency licensed foster parents on the first and third Thursday of each month.
First Thursday Support Groups are hosted by foster and adoptive parent Larisa Koenig M.Ed. Third Thursday Support Groups are hosted by foster/adoptive parents Larisa Koenig M.Ed and Tif Sudela-Junker. Third Thursdays contain a training component focused on parenting children with challenging behaviors, and participants will receive a one-hour training certificate to send to their licensor.
These groups are interactive and conversational. Foster parents are encouraged to ask questions and participate over video. We ask that participants refer to cases in general terms and avoid sharing confidential information about their children and their families.
Youthnet is a non-profit foster care agency based in Mount Vernon, WA. Youthnet provides support services to children, youth, and families in Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, Island, San Juan, King, Pierce, Kitsap, Clallam, and Jefferson Counties.
