TRAINING

All foster parents are required to participate in relevant training each year.  This is a great opportunity to gain parenting skills, better understand the effects of trauma, and meet other local foster parents.  If you're unsure if a training opportunity will count towards your hours, please send us an email prior to signing up to make sure you will receive credit.  Alliance provides many local and online trainings specific to foster care.  Sign up to receive email updates about upcoming trainings in your area.

  • Alliance offers a free CPR/First Aid course for foster parents. If you choose to train with a different provider, please check with your licensor first to ensure the course covers infant/child/adult CPR and is a nationally certified training. The in-person requirement is currently being waived until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

REQUIRED FORMS

Forms will now be submitted online through your Youthnet Foster Family Website.

New Household Members & Nannies- Background Check

If you're planning to have a new household member over the age of 16 (for any length of time), a visitor for more than 7 days, or if you're planning to hire a nanny (caring for your children frequently, at least once a month), please promptly submit the following items to your Youthnet licensor. Foster children cannot be left unsupervised with new household members until their background clearance is received.  Background clearances usually take 1-3 months to process.

  • After completing the online background form, it's required to save a PDF copy and email this to your Youthnet Licensor.

  • This form is required, even if you have not lived out of state within the past five years.

  • Copy of Driver's License

Household members and nannies must also submit the following items.

  • This CPR/First Aid training meets current WAC requirements, and the need for in-person CPR is currently being waived due to COVID restrictions. If your nanny/household member prefers a different training provider, please check with your licensor first to ensure the class meets WAC requirements.

  • TB Test Results (within the last 12 months)
  • Proof of Current Auto Insurance
