Youthnet Announces the Departure of Executive Director

Youthnet, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting youth in Northwest Washington communities, announces the departure of its Executive Director, Carla Arnold, after nearly 10 years of leadership.

Since joining Youthnet, Ms. Arnold has helped the organization to grow and positively impact thousands of young people and their families. Under her leadership, Youthnet’s initiatives in foster care, family support, and youth development have ensured that at-risk youth receive the care and guidance they need to thrive. The board expresses its gratitude for Ms. Arnold’s work over the past decade.

Ms. Arnold stated, “I am extremely grateful for all I’ve learned at Youthnet over the years and for the opportunity I have had to work for this amazing organization. I will miss the relationships built, grow from the lessons learned, and treasure the collaborations that have positively impacted so many lives.”

Jon Rylaarsdam, Director of Youthnet’s Therapeutic Foster Network, has been appointed Interim Executive Director while the process of selecting a new executive director occurs. Rylaarsdam brings 15 years of experience, leadership, program management and development within therapeutic foster care, with over 7 years of this work at Youthnet. He is committed to serving the needs of youth and families through trauma-informed leadership and community-focused support. During this transition, Youthnet remains fully committed to its mission of supporting youth and families in 15 counties across Western Washington state.
