equity + land acknowledgment

At Youthnet, we stand firmly on the principles of equality, justice, and human rights for all. Our commitment to marginalized communities drives us to create a world where every individual is recognized, respected, and empowered to live authentically, freely, and with dignity.

We would also like to acknowledge the historical and systemic exploitation and oppression of indigenous peoples, enslaved Africans, and other historically under-invested people. This has led to the disproportionate representation of these communities among the youth we serve and whose voices we seek to elevate.

We acknowledge that we are on the traditional land of the Coast Salish people, the traditional home of all tribes and bands within the Duwamish, Suquamish, Tulalip, Nisqually, Snoqualmie, and Muckleshoot nations. They were the original protectors and caretakers of the land before it was colonized. We honor with gratitude the land itself and these tribes. We are committed to supporting and fighting for their sovereignty.
