About

caregiver supports program

Youthnet's Caregiver Support Program offers essential services for caregivers—both licensed and unlicensed—who care for children placed by the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). Whether caregivers are relatives, kin, or foster parents, Youthnet provides tailored assistance based on each child’s assessed needs to ensure stability, development, and well-being.

Comprehensive Caregiver Support Services

Youthnet’s services include educational advocacy, health coordination, childcare assistance, culturally responsive care, and transition support for youth approaching adulthood. Additionally, behavioral strategy development and crisis support are available to address urgent needs, offering caregivers resources and guidance to foster a positive home environment.

Personalized Caregiver Support Plans (CSP)

Youthnet connects with new caregivers within 72 hours of placement (excluding weekends and holidays) to assess immediate needs. Within 14 days, a tailored Caregiver Support Plan (CSP) is created in collaboration with the caregiver’s chosen support network. The CSP, which includes quarterly updates, ensures sustained support, including pre-authorized Case Aide hours for caregivers managing children with higher support levels (3-7).

Eligibility

The Caregiver Support Program is based in Snohomish County.
